Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre occurred on March 5th, 1770. A squad of British soldiers were being harassed by colonists throwing snowballs (history.com). The British soldiers let off a round of shots. Three people were killed right away, however two people later died because of their wounds (history.com). Capt. Thomas Preston was the British officer in charge and he was arrested for manslaughter, as well as eight of his men (history.com). However, later these chargers were acquitted (history.com).
The Battles of Lexington and Concord
The Battles of Lexington and Concord was the start of the American Revolutionary War (history.com). It was fought on April 19, 1775 (history.com). Britain's General Gage planned to send out soldiers, heading to Lexington, where they would capture Sam Adams and John Hancock (ushistory.org). They they planned to go to Concord where they would seize gunpowder (ushistory.org). However, a series of horseback riders, including Paul Revere, rode off to warn people that the British troops were coming (ushistory.org). The confrontation at Lexington started off the fighting and the British soon were retreating under intense fire, which took them by shock (history.com).
The British had a force of 1500 men and 73 men were killed, with 174 wounded and 53 men captured (history.com). The Americans had a force of 3800 men and 49 men were killed, with 49 wounded and zero men captured (history.com).

The Treaty of Paris (Conclusion)
After the American-French victory in Yorktown, Virginia, peace negotiations between Britain and the colonists began (history.com). Benjamin Franklin, John Jay, Henry Laurens and John Adams represented the colonists (history.com). Great Britain were represented by David Hartley and Richard Oswald (history.com). The treaty made Britain recognize the independent nation of the United States and also agreed to remove all of their troops from the United States. The treaty set new borders for the US. The US agreed to allow Britain's troop to leave and they also agreed to pay existing debts owed to Great Britain (socialstudiesforkids.com). On September 3, 1783,the treaty of Paris was signed (ourdocuments.gov).
